I’ve suffered with Ulcerative Colitis for most of my life. I’ve tried every therapy out there and have been on multiple different medications. Now when I have a flare up I know the best way to help ease the pain, regulate my bowel movements, and to stop the bleeding, is to book in an acupuncture treatment right away. After a few treatments and making a few dietary changes that Claire always reminds me about, I normally recover quicker than when I used to go on Prednisone. Claire’s given me a new lease on life. “I can’t thank Claire enough for the treatments through my pregnancy. After suffering two miscarriages in a row, the 3rd time I got a positive pregnancy test I called to book an appointment right away after a friend of mine told me about the prenatal care at Family Acupuncture.
Having a lot of anxiety of this pregnancy ending in another miscarriage when I came in to meet with Claire I felt a calmness come over me and after the first treatment I felt more at ease.
Claire is very warm, caring, compassionate and made me feel less anxious right way. Not only did I go for the treatments for miscarriage prevention, but I was also given relief for morning sickness, back aches, insomnia, headaches and even bad dreams.

During my third trimester I went to Claire to get my body ready for labor and to help me with some back aches, once I had my son I went got some postnatal care to help me with swelling and lactation problems. “At first I wasn’t sure what to expect with Cosmetic Acupuncture. I first noticed how good my body and spirit felt after two treatments…peaceful and calm on the inside, lots of energy on the outside. In week three, I began to see a change when I looked in the mirror. There was a smoothness and openness in my face that was new. Subtle but noticeable. The lines didn’t capture my attention like they used to do. Someone said to me “You look so fresh”! By week four, many of the small vertical lines around my lips that I really didn’t like had disappeared. When I glanced in the mirror it seemed there was a lift in my eye area. They looked less hooded. Someone said my skin looked radiant. I also felt less inclined to wear lip colour whenever I went out. I found myself just reaching for a lip moisturizer. When I noticed this change in habit, I realized that my lips had more colour, they were more vibrant. I liked this! Week five came and as I washed my face in the shower I thought how smooth my forehead seemed. An upward stroke on my forehead was no longer like a bumpy ride on a rutted road!
