Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world today. Through the insertion of single use sterilized needles into specific points throughout the body, it can relax tight muscles, promote blood flow, balance hormones and calm the nervous system. It is virtually pain-free and very relaxing and can treat several conditions simultaneously.

Diet Therapy and Chinese Herbal Medicine

Diet Therapy plays a significant role in Chinese medicine as it is considered the foundation of our lasting health. In Chinese medicine, the food we eat and its method of preparation should change and align with our constitution and each season. Avoiding certain foods and introducing other foods can also help treat specific ailments and improve the health and vitality of an individual. Chinese herbology can further correct health imbalances through the prescription of classical herbal formulas. These herbal formulas can treat anything from the common cold to anxiety, hot flashes, infertility and more.

Cupping and Tuina

Cupping relaxes tight muscles and promotes blood flow to specific areas of the body. Through the placement of depressurized cups onto the skin it is used to drain the lymphatic system, stimulate the nervous system, bring blood flow to tight muscles and release stubborn ‘knots’. This makes it an effective treatment for chronic or acute coughs, musculoskeletal pain, sciatica, cellulite, headaches and fevers. TuiNa, which in Mandarin literally translates to push and grasp, is an ancient hands-on therapy that promotes the proper flow of Qi within the body by massaging and activating different acupuncture points. Depending on what is being treated, cupping and TuiNa are sometimes integrated into a typical acupuncture session in order to obtain the best results.

Allergy Treatments

Through neuromuscular sensitivity testing, Claire can determine the different sensitivities and potential allergies of her clients. After discerning the allergies, she then conducts an acupuncture treatment that will then calm and reboot the nervous system so that it no longer deems that sensitivity as a threat. After relaxing the nervous system and boosting the immune system of the client, they should then be able to re-introduce their previous sensitivities, symptom-free, into their life. This can be an effective treatment for food sensitivities, seasonal allergies, skin problems and more.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

In a series of 10 treatments twice a week, tiny acupuncture needles are placed along the face to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. These treatments help tone and lift the skin as well as reduce fine lines and wrinkles. A youthful glow is restored to the face, the skin tone evens, blemishes disappear and previous areas that sagged look more lifted. In conjunction with looking and feeling younger, clients report that the treatments leave them with more energy, less anxiety and better sleep patterns.
